Total SA has decided not to proceed with the Stage 2 farm-in into permits in the onshore southern Georgina basin of western Queensland held by Central Petroleum Ltd., Brisbane.
The joint venture’s Stage 1 exploration program into unconventional oil and gas prospects was suspended in March 2016. It was planned to morph into the Stage 2 program this March, but after a review of its onshore exploration program Total has decided to pull out.
As a result, Central Petroleum will revert to a 100% interest in the acreage.
