Maersk Drilling takes delivery of fourth ultra-harsh environment rig

Maersk Drilling took delivery of its fourth XL Enhanced jack up drilling rig, the Maersk Invincible, from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. It’s the fourth ultra-harsh environment jack up rig for the Maersk fleet.

Maersk Drilling took delivery of its fourth XL Enhanced jack up drilling rig, the Maersk Invincible, from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. It’s the fourth ultra-harsh environment jack up rig for the Maersk fleet.

The Maersk Invincible is scheduled for a 5-year contract, starting in the second quarter, with Aker BP ASA for work on Valhall field in the Norwegian North Sea (OGJ Online, Feb. 8, 2013).

XLE rigs are designed for year-round operation in the North Sea in up to 492 ft of water.
