The California Air Resources Board (CARB) released modifications on Feb. 3 to its proposed limits of greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas operations in the state. Comments will be accepted through Feb. 21, and a public hearing will be held on Mar. 23, it indicated.

The proposed regulation would impose emissions controls on equipment at onshore and offshore production facilities as well as natural gas compressor stations, underground storage facilities, and gathering and boosting stations, the stage agency said.

The 13 modifications cover 27 pages and include four additional documents. Specific modifications are included for separator and tank systems, circulation tanks for well-stimulation treatments, vapor collection systems and control devices, reciprocating gas compressors, centrifugal gas compressors, gas-powered pneumatic devices and pumps, liquids unloading at gas wells, well casing vents, and underground gas storage facility monitoring requirements.
