Total E&P PNG Ltd., operator of petroleum retention license 15 (PRL15) in Papua New Guinea, has reported that the Antelope-7 sidetrack appraisal well has reached 2,383 m measured depth below rotary table (MDRT) without evidence of intersecting the Antelope reservoir.
The proposed total depth of the Antelope-7 appraisal section of the well was about 2,300 m MDRT. The well is designed to provide structural control and reservoir definition on the field’s western flank.
The operator on behalf of the PRL15 joint venture is drilling ahead to explore a deeper exploration target.
Total E&P PNG holds 40.1275% interest in the well. InterOil Corp. holds 36.5375%, Oil Search Ltd. 22.835%, and the remaining 0.5% is held by minority parties.
