Murphy Oil Corp. subsidiary Murphy Exploration & Production Co.-USA has let a deepwater integrated subsea engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning contract to Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA).
Based on the contract, SIA—a nonincorporated partnership of OneSubsea, Schlumberger Ltd., and Subsea 7 SA formed in July 2015—will supply and install a subsea multiphase boosting system for Dalmatian field in the Gulf of Mexico (OGJ Online, Mar. 3, 2015). This includes topside and subsea controls as well as a 35-km integrated power and control umbilical.
The alliance will enable a turnkey integrated project from design through supply, installation, and commissioning. SIA is calling this contract the industry’s longest deepwater subsea multiphase boosting tieback.
Murphy, operator with 70% interest, produces about 3,700 boe/d of oil and gas from Dalmatian field on Block 48, Dalmatian North on Block 4, and Dalmatian South on Block 134. The fields, completed subsea in 5,822-6,318 ft of water, are tied back to the Petronius compliant tower operated by Chevron Corp. and Marathon Oil Corp. on Viosca Knoll Block 786.
