Neil Duffin has been appointed by ExxonMobil Corp. as president of ExxonMobil Production Co. He also has been elected as a vice-president of the corporation.
Duffin, currently president of ExxonMobil Development Co., will succeed Tom Walters, who announced his intention to retire after more than 38 years of service. Liam Mallon has been elected president of ExxonMobil Development. All changes are effective Jan. 1.
Duffin joined Mobil Corp. in 1979 in Aberdeen and has held a variety of managerial positions in production, operations, and development.
He became vice-president, ExxonMobil Development, for Russia-Caspian Sea and the Middle East in 1999, followed by vice-president of ExxonMobil Production for Africa in 2004 and executive vice-president of ExxonMobil Development in 2006. Duffin was elected as president of ExxonMobil Development in 2007.
Walters joined Exxon USA in 1978 in Los Angeles and has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in production, operations, development, and global services.
He was appointed president of ExxonMobil Global Services Co. in 2005 prior to becoming executive vice-president of ExxonMobil Development in 2007. He became president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Co. in 2009 and was appointed to his current role as president of ExxonMobil Production in 2013.
Mallon joined Mobil in 1990 in Aberdeen and held a variety of senior positions before he became operations manager in Nigeria in 1998. He was made vice-president of engineering for ExxonMobil Production in 2009 and vice-president for Africa in 2012. He was appointed to his current position as executive vice-president of ExxonMobil Development in 2014.
