Strategic Oil & Gas Ltd. completed its first four-well pad in its West Marlowe prospect. The horizontal Muskeg 2-13 well tested at an average of 1,263 boe/d over the last 24-hr period and has produced more than 7,400 boe (54% oil) within the last 7 days, the company said in a press release.

The well is flowing 685 b/d of 36° gravity light oil and 3.5 MMcfd of raw natural gas and production is choked back to about a 30% drawdown rate. The 2-13 well is tied in and flowing into the operator’s sales pipeline. The well is 3 miles from the Muskeg 14-15 well that was drilled in the first quarter and tested at 1,060 boe/d.

According to Strategic, production results from both wells demonstrate repeatability in the large areal extent of the Muskeg play.

The Marlowe area is 60 miles north of High Level in northwestern Alberta. Strategic is operator with 100% working interest in 344,096 acres. The company currently has more than 60 oil and gas wells producing from the Muskeg Stack, Keg River, Sulphur Point, and Slave Point formations.
