The US Environmental Protection Agency said it will hold a hearing in Houston on Nov. 17 on its Oct. 18 reconsideration of and request for public comments on five issues in the final National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutant Emissions from refineries that were published on Dec. 1, 2015.

The US Environmental Protection Agency said it will hold a hearing in Houston on Nov. 17 on its Oct. 18 reconsideration of and request for public comments on five issues in the final National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutant Emissions from refineries that were published on Dec. 1, 2015.

EPA said in a Nov. 3 Federal Register notice that petitioners claimed the public was not given enough time to comment on the issues. It also proposed amendments to the final rule to clarify a compliance issue that stakeholders raised subject to the final rule, and to correct a referencing error.

The federal environmental regulatory agency also extended the comment period for the proposed rule until Dec. 19.
