Beach Energy Ltd. has named a chief operating officer and a group executive of exploration and development.
Mike Dodd, currently group executive of exploration and development, will take the role of chief operating officer effective Jan. 3, 2017. He joined Beach in 2007 and has helped oversee the growth of the firm’s operated Western Flank oil and gas business in Australia. Prior to Beach, Mike held senior technical and leadership roles at BG Group PLC, Santos Ltd., and Anadarko Petroleum Corp.
Kevin Welsh, acting chief operating officer for the past 4 months, will return to his former role of general manager, production. As chief operating officer, he helped oversee commencement of Beach’s fiscal-year 2017 operated drilling campaign.
Jeff Schrull will take the role of group executive of exploration and development. Currently general manager of exploration and production at Cue Energy Resources Ltd., he brings to Beach more than 30 years of upstream oil and gas experience.
Schrull previously held several senior international positions with Chevron Corp. over 19 years, and subsequently worked at Addax Petroleum as corporate general manager of exploration. He will begin his role at Beach on Jan. 3, 2017.
