An exploratory well operated by Total E&P Norge in the Norwegian North Sea encountered natural gas and condensate in three formations.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said reservoir quality was good in the Tarbert, Ness, and Etive formations in the Middle Jurassic Brent group.

The Maersk Intrepid jack up drilled the 30/4-3 S well in 115 m of water the northeast part of the Martin Linge field (OGJ Online, Oct. 28, 2014).

It tested at a maximum production rate of 2.4 million cu m/d through a 48/64-in. choke.

The well was drilled to a subsea vertical depth of 4,134 m and a subsea measured depth of 4,581 m and was terminated in the Early Jurassic Dunlin group.

NPD said it was the fourth exploration well in PL 043, which was awarded in 1976.
