Three Jacana wells came on stream during the third quarter. The wells, Jacana 3, 4, and 5, currently produce 7,200 b/d of oil gross, Geopark said (OGJ Online, Aug. 22, 2016).

Jacana 5 was drilled 780 m north of Jacana 3 further down dip to a bottom-hole location below the previous lowest-known oil. The Jacana 6 appraisal well currently is being drilled.

Geopark of Santiago, Chile, has operations in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Peru. In Peru, GeoPark and Petroperu have until March 2017 to obtain government regulatory approvals to close a transaction announced in 2014.
