The incident, which occurred about 10:30 a.m. local time, resulted from a process upset at the refinery’s onsite process sewer system, Shell said.

Shell’s emergency response team has concluded responding to the incident, and no injuries or off site impacts have been reported in the wake of the event.

The company did not disclose further details regarding either the precise nature of the operational issue or its impact on processing activities at the plant.
