Rowland selected as Swift Energy chairman

Marcus C. Rowland has been chosen by Swift Energy Co., Houston, to serve as its chairman effective Sept. 26. He succeeds acting Chairman Pete Kirchof.

Marcus C. Rowland has been chosen by Swift Energy Co., Houston, to serve as its chairman effective Sept. 26. He succeeds acting Chairman Pete Kirchof.

An oil and gas corporate executive, director, and investment manager, Rowland has more than 40 years of experience in all aspects of upstream and midstream businesses.

He is the founder and senior managing director of IOG Capital LP where he leads the company’s investment team. Rowland is also the former executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Chesapeake Energy Corp.

Current Chief Executive Officer and former Chairman Terry Earl Swift, as well as Chief Financial Officer Alton D. Heckaman Jr. previously reported their plans to retire (OGJ Online, Aug. 10, 2016).

The Eagle Ford shale-focused firm emerged from Chapter 11 restructuring on Apr. 22.
