Woodside Energy Ltd. has let a contract to Keppel Offshore & Marine, Singapore, for the modification and upgrade of the Ngujima-Yin floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, which will support the Greater Enfield oil development offshore Western Australia.
The contract, worth $120 million, is one of four awarded to Keppel in recent weeks.
The Woodside job includes marine and hull-life extension as well as refurbishment work to the FPSO. There also will be installation of a customised water flood module, turret risers, and a power and control module, along with modification of the swivel system and marine top-side piping.
Detailed engineering has begun and shipyard construction work is scheduled to start during second-quarter 2018.
Other contracts are for BW Offshore, Sofec Inc., and Saipem Offshore Norway.
BW’s project involves installation and integration of topsides for a newbuild FPSO to be deployed in Catcher field in the UK central North Sea operated by Premier Oil PLC.
Sofec’s contract is for the fabrication of an internal turret mooring system. The FPSO will operate in Maersk Oil-operated Culzean field in the central UK North Sea.
The fourth job involves replacement of switchboards to improve the power distribution systems aboard the Castorone pipelay vessel. There also will be renewal work on 45 km of electric cables, pipelay system upgrades, construction of water ballast tanks, and conversion of the old tanks into fuel oil tanks.
