Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd. has restarted its 88,000-b/d Port Dickson refinery in the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan, about 90 km from Kuala Lumpur, following a temporary shutdown of the plant caused by a late-June fire (OGJ Online, June 28, 2016).
The refinery resumed operations during the first week of July, PMRMB said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
While the refinery is now operational, an official investigation into the cause of the June 24 fire remains under way, the company said.
PMRMB disclosed no details regarding the scope of repairs it completed to return the refinery to working order.
