Modifications to the FPF-1 semisubmersible are nearly complete for Ithaca Energy’s Greater Stella Area development in the UK central North Sea, Ithaca Energy Inc. executives said.

The semi is expected to leave Petrofac’s Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, during July after vessel inclination testing and loading of supplies. It will take an estimated 3 months for the semi to make the journey to the North Sea.

Ithaca operates Greater Stella Area in the Central Graben area on the UK Continental Shelf. It is an area surrounded by various large producing fields, predominantly operated by the majors.

The Greater Stella Area licenses contain Stella and Harrier fields, currently being developed, the Hurricane discovery, and the Twister prospect, Ithaca Energy said.
