BP Berau Ltd. awarded two new engineering and construction contracts for onshore and offshore work in Indonesia on the Tangguh LNG expansion project. The first, for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of two offshore unmanned platforms and associated subsea pipelines, was let to Saipem.
The second contract, for construction of a 3.8 million-tonne/year liquefaction train, utilities, offsites, an LNG jetty, and associated infrastructure, was let to CSTS, a joint operation led by Indonesian EPC contractor Tripatra, with Chiyoda, Saipem, and Suluh Ardhi Engineering.
The new train will be Tangguh’s third, adding to the plant’s current 7.6 million tpy capacity. The expansion also includes 13 production wells (OGJ Online, July 1, 2016).
BP expects the projects to be complete by 2020.
