OAO Gazprom provided updates on several large-scale projects in eastern Russia at a June 14 press conference in Moscow.
In Chayandinskoye field, eight rigs are drilling production wells and five more will be added (OGJ Online, May 11, 2015). Chayandinskoye field is the basis for the Yakutia gas production center.
Gazprom said expansion of gas production capacities in Russia’s East takes place “in tandem” with development of the gas transmission system. The Power of Siberia gas trunkline is “on track” with the Chayanda-Lensk-Olyokminsk section currently being built (OGJ Online, Oct. 14, 2014).
As early as 2018, Gazprom will ensure the operational readiness of Power of Siberia’s priority capacities from Chayandinskoye to the Chinese border near Blagoveshchensk.
Gazprom said it continues to negotiate terms of gas deliveries to China via the western route, Power of Siberia 2 (OGJ Online, May 11, 2015). It also said the “possibility” of a third pipeline delivery route is being explored.
The Amur gas processing plant is on schedule with railway sidings and a temporary wharf being built on the Zeya River (OGJ Online, July 29, 2015). Construction of the pile foundation for the plant’s core equipment will begin this year.
Gazprom said the Kirinskoye gas field off Sakhalin Island will have four producing wells this year, up from two (OGJ Online, Sept. 6, 2013). The company expects seven wells by 2019 with gas production capacity reaching 5.5 billion cu m/year.
Regarding LNG exports, Gazprom said design documentation is being developed for construction of the third production train of the LNG plant within the Sakhalin II project.
