Malcolm Brinded, retired executive director of Royal Dutch Shell PLC, has been named president-elect of the Energy Institute, London, which also appointed four vice-presidents.
Brinded, who retired in 2012 as executive director for upstream international and main board executive director after 38 years with Shell, joined the EI council in 2013. He will succeed Jim Skea as president in 2017 for a 2-year term.
New vice-presidents of the industry group are Bernie Bulkin, director of Ludgate Investment; Vivienne Cox, who held a number of senior executive positions with BP PLC and now chairs Vallourec; Steve Holliday, former chief executive officer of National Grid; and Ceri Powell, global head of exploration at Shell.
The will serve 3-year terms.
