Kinder Morgan Inc. has officially withdrawn its application to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the Northeast Energy Direct (NED) natural gas pipeline.

The action comes a month after the company canceled the project citing insufficient contractual commitments (OGJ Online, Apr. 21, 2016).

NED was to have extended between Wright, NY, and Dracut, Mass., using 30-in. OD pipe to provide 1.3-2.2 bcfd of incremental gas capacity to KMI’s existing Tennessee Gas Pipeline system (OGJ Online, July 17, 2015).
