The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management scheduled three public meetings to receive input on the draft programmatic environmental impact statement covering oil and gas lease sales in the 2017-22 US Outer Continental Shelf program it is preparing.

Meetings will be held on Apr. 18 in New Orleans, Apr. 20 in Houston, and Apr. 26 in Washington, DC. Some were rescheduled to accommodate more people because of significant public interest in the 5-year program’s development, BOEM said.

It said the meetings will give members of the public opportunities to have one-on-one conversations with BOEM scientists, researchers, and other staff members to ask questions and share information.

Attendees also can provide comments for the record at the meetings, as well as submit them online at boemoceaninfo.com through May 2 during the extended comment period, BOEM said.
