Van P. Whitfield will serve as special advisor to Cobalt International Energy Inc., Houston, for 6 months beginning July 1 after resigning as chief operating officer and executive vice-president.
Whitfield joined Cobalt in 2006 and was promoted into his current positions in 2011.
