Valero Energy Corp., San Antonio, has let a contract to Wood Group PLC, Aberdeen, to provide onshore industrial services to the company’s Pembroke refinery located along the Pembrokeshire coast in southwest Wales, UK.

As part of the 5-year framework agreement, which takes effect immediately, Wood Group Industrial Services Ltd. will deliver surface preparation and application of protective coatings for unidentified installations at the refinery, Wood Group said.

A value of the contract, which has a 1-year extension option, was not disclosed.

The refinery, which Valero purchased from Chevron Corp. in 2011 (OGJ Online, Mar. 11, 2011), processes a mix of crudes into gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, heating oil, and low-sulfur fuel oil from feedstock it receives primarily from ships and barges via deepwater docking installations along the Milford Haven Waterway.

The refinery has a total throughput capacity of 270,000 b/d, which includes a crude processing capacity of 220,000 b/d as well as capacity to process 50,000 b/d of other feedstock, Valero said.
