Hirshberg, Fox take new executive roles at ConocoPhillips

Al Hirshberg has been named ConocoPhillips executive vice-president, production, drilling, and projects. He currently serves as executive vice-president, technology, and projects. Matt Fox has been named executive vice-president, strategy, exploration, and technology. He’s currently executive vice-president, exploration and production.

Matt Fox has been named executive vice-president, strategy, exploration, and technology. He’s currently executive vice-president, exploration and production.

Hirshberg will oversee the company’s worldwide operations and be responsible for drilling, major projects, and the firm’s health, safety, and environmental function. He has more than 30 years of industry experience in a variety of operational, technical, and leadership roles.

Fox will be responsible for strategic planning, exploration, business development, and technology development. He has served in several operational, technical, and leadership roles during more than 30 years in industry.

Both appointments are effective Apr. 1. Hirshberg and Fox will continue to report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ryan Lance.
