BHP Billiton Petroleum Pty. Ltd. has let a contract to Fugro NV for the Pyrenees Phase 3 installation project in 200 m of water and 45 km northwest of Exmouth offshore Western Australia.

The project—which comprises six separate fields: Stickle, Crosby, Tanglehead, Moondyne, Wild Bull, and Ravensworth—includes the tie back of the Stickle 9 well to the existing Tanglehead manifold.

Fugro’s scope of work includes suspension of existing infrastructure, and installation and precommissioning of the new flexibles and flying leads. Remotely operated vehicle intervention and well commissioning support also will be provided. The scope of the work also includes the supply and fabrication of crossings, stabilization, and installation aids, along with mobilization and transportation of equipment to the field.

To start in May, all offshore activities will take place from Fugro’s multi-role Southern Ocean construction vessel. Fugro also will provide all project management, engineering, and associated support functions.
