Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. (DSME) has let a contract to engineering firm Clough Ltd., Perth, for hook-up services on the Ichthys LNG project’s floating production, storage, and offloading facility.

Earlier this week Samsung Heavy Industries Co. also let a contract to Clough for hook-up services for the project’s central processing facility offshore Western Australia (OGJ Online, Jan. 27, 2016).

The scope of work includes the preparation and execution of offshore hook-up and assistance to commissioning. Work will start in this year’s first quarter with the mobilization of engineering and technical teams to DSME’s fabrication yard in Geoje, South Korea, before moving to the Browse basin, 200 km offshore northern Western Australia.

The Ichthys LNG project is a joint venture operated by Inpex Corp. in partnership with Total, CPC Corp. Taiwan, and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power, and Toho Gas.
