Pennine Petroleum Corp. was confirmed as successful bidder for the 620-sq-km Block Velca in southern portion of Albania near the city of Vlore.
The block contains reservoirs of Ionian subthrust carbonates, which are similar in structure to the foothills of western Alberta, Pennine said.
