Statoil ASA let contracts for platform jackets for the Johan Sverdrup development offshore Norway to Kvaerner Verdal and Dragados Offshore SA.

The Kvaerner Verdal contract covers engineering, fabrication, and construction of the steel jacket for the processing platform. The jacket will be constructed in Verdal, Norway, and installed in Johan Sverdrup field in summer 2018. Statoil said the contract is valued at 1 billion kroner.

The contract for Dragados Offshore SA covers engineering, fabrication, and construction of the steel jacket for the utility and accommodation platform. The jacket will be constructed in Cadiz, Spain, and installed in summer 2018.

All four platforms will be bridge-linked. First phase of development also includes three subsea water injection templates.
