Harewood named president of Petrotrin

Fitzroy Harewood has been appointed president of Trinidad and Tobago’s state-owned Petrotrin LLC effective Nov. 1.

Fitzroy Harewood has been appointed president of Trinidad and Tobago’s state-owned Petrotrin LLC effective Nov. 1.

Harewood comes to Petrotrin having served as the general manager of Powergen, a joint venture of Trinidad & Tobago Electricity Commission, Maru Energy Trinidad LLC, and National Enterprises Ltd. Power Holdings.

Petrotrin is an amalgamation of several predecessor companies that once operated in Trinidad and Tobago including Texaco Inc., Royal Dutch Shell PLC, and BP PLC.

Harewood will take the helm of a company that produces just more than 42,000 bo/d and has a refinery with a throughput of 165,000 bo/d. The company also has reserves of 1.5 billion bbl of heavy oil.

Harewood brings to Petrotrin more than 29 years of technical and leadership experience. In 1986, Herewood joined Petrotrin’s predecessor company TRINTOC as a project engineer. After 10 years he moved to Hydro Agri Trinidad Ltd., which later became Yara Trinidad Ltd. where he was assistant manager, engineering.
