Sembcorp Marine unit gets Culzean contract

Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd. has let an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to Sembcorp Marine subsidiary SMOE Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for topsides on Culzean gas and condensate field in the central UK North Sea.

Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd. has let an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to Sembcorp Marine subsidiary SMOE Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for topsides on Culzean gas and condensate field in the central UK North Sea (OGJ Online, Aug. 31, 2015).

The contract, worth more than $1 billion, includes construction of the central processing facility and two connecting bridges, wellhead platform, and utilities and living quarters platform topsides.

High-pressure, high-temperature Culzean field is in 90 m of water 145 miles east of Aberdeen.

Maersk and partners JX Nippon and BP PLC expect production to start in 2019 and peak at 60,000-90,000 boe/d.
