Santos Ltd. reported that David Knox, managing director and chief executive officer, will step down after 7 years in the position once a successor has been appointed.

Knox remains responsible for the company’s entire operations and projects until he vacates the position. The move is part of the company board’s strategic review process in the midst of continuing pressure on Santos’ share price.

“We will be talking with the parties who have approached us to date with interest in various assets and other strategic initiatives and with this announcement there may well be new expressions of interest received,” explained Peter Coates, chairman.

Santos made several executive appointments earlier this month (OGJ Online, Aug. 5, 2015).
