Husky Energy Inc. reported unplanned maintenance at its Lloydminster heavy oil upgrader in Saskatchewan.

The company said upgrader operations have been suspended, but upstream heavy oil production will not be impacted. An independent assessment conducted in late 2014 hiked Husky’s heavy oil resources in the Lloydminster region of Alberta and Saskatchewan (OGJ Online, Dec. 12, 2014).

The maintenance, which is expected to last 6-8 weeks, is focused on repairs to the facility’s coke drums, Husky said.
