Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL), Mumbai, is planning to shut down a crude unit for scheduled maintenance at its 1.24 million-b/d Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex in Gujarat, India.

The company will shut down one of the refinery’s four crude distillation units (CDU) for routine maintenance and inspection activities during the first half of July, RIL said.

During the planned turnaround, which is scheduled to last for about 10 days, RIL also plans to carry out necessary modifications to improve the reliability and performance of the unit, the company said.

The refinery’s three remaining CDUs, as well as all other major secondary processing units, will continue to operate at normal rates during the maintenance period, according to RIL.

Customer supply commitments will not be interrupted as a result of the maintenance.

RIL in March shut down one of the refinery’s four CDUs and its 200,000-b/d fluid catalytic cracker for about 4 weeks of scheduled maintenance activities (OGJ Online, Mar. 12, 2015).
