Subsea contract let for Triton FPSO in North Sea

Technip was let a brownfield subsea contract for the replacement of certain subsea assets associated with the Triton floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, operated by Dana Petroleum PLC unit Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd. in the central North Sea. The FPSO lies 193 km east of Aberdeen in 90 m of water.

The FPSO lies 193 km east of Aberdeen in 90 m of water.

The vessel produces oil and gas from several fields including Bittern, Guillemot West and North West, Clapham, Pict, and Saxon. Production from the fields is tied back to the vessel via subsea facilities comprising a series of pipelines and manifolds.

The contract’s scope of work includes project management and engineering of the installation of two flexible risers (one 9 in. and one 6 in.), fabrication and installation of one dynamic umbilical riser, removal and recovery of existing assets at the FPSO vessel, and additional installation, repair, and maintenance works. No contract value was provided.

Joint venture partners in Triton are Dana 51.966%, Shell UK Ltd. 26.42%, Esso Exploration & Production UK Ltd. 20%, and Endeavour Energy UK Ltd. 1.614%.
