The E&P branch of Total SA will be restructured into five geographical divisions, an exploration division, and five functional divisions. All moves are effective Jan. 1, 2015 unless specified otherwise.
“These changes are made with the objective to improve efficiency and adapt to the challenges the group is facing,” explained Arnaud Breuillac, Total E&P president since Jan. 1 (OGJ Online, Nov. 4, 2013).
The new organization is as follows:
- The Africa division will be led by Guy Maurice;
- The Americas division will be led by Michel Hourcard;
- The Asia Pacific division will be led by Olivier de Langavant; until Mar. 1, 2015, Jean-Marie Guillermou will remain vice-president of the Asia Pacific division and de Langavant vice-president strategy growth research division;
- The Europe and Central Asia division will be led by Michael Borrell, representing the merger of the Northern Europe and Continental Europe-Central Asia divisions;
- The Middle East and North Africa division will be led by Stephane Michel;
- And the exploration division will be led by Kevin McLachlan.
Ladislas Paszkiewicz, currently vice-president of Total’s Americas division, will be appointed senior vice-president, mergers and acquisitions in the finance division.
Following the death of Christophe de Margerie in October, Thierry Desmarest was named chairman and Patrick Pouyanne was named the company’s chief executive officer and president of the executive committee (OGJ Online, Oct. 22, 2014).
