Plains All American Pipeline LP (PAA) plans to provide additional pumps to increase the takeaway capacity of the Cactus pipeline in response to higher regional production forecasts and shipper demand.

Installation of booster stations along the pipeline, which extends from McCamey to Gardendale, Tex., will increase throughput to 330,000 b/d from 250,000 b/d (OGJ Online, Apr. 16, 2013).

This expansion, along with the Eagle Ford joint venture pipeline expansion reported earlier this month, will allow PAA to move increased production volumes from the Permian basin to Corpus Christi, Tex., and other delivery points along the system (OGJ Online, Nov. 4, 2014).

The Cactus pipeline is expected to be in service in April 2015, and the expansion is expected to be completed in fourth-quarter 2015.
