Total will develop Glenlivet natural gas field west of the Shetlands offshore the UK in conjunction with nearby Edradour gas field, the decision to develop which occurred earlier (OGJ Online, July 3, 2014).

Partner DONG Energy reported the Glenlivet decision while disclosing an agreement to divest 5% of its Edradour interest to Total E&P UK Ltd.

DONG’s interests in four fields operated by Total in the area now will be 20% each. The other fields are Laggan and Tormore, which hold gas and condensate.

The French company agreed to the integrated development of Laggan and Tormore in 2010.

It plans to develop Edradour field, in 300 m of water on Block 206/4a, by converting the discovery well into a subsea producer tied back to the main Laggan-Tormore flowline with a 16-km production line.

For Glenlivet, in 435 m of water on Block 214/30a, development will involve two wells completed through a four-slot subsea manifold tied back to Laggan-Tormore pipelines with a 35-km production line, DONG said. The partners earlier had envisioned tying Glenlivet back to Edradour, 17 km away.

Edradour production is to start in the fourth quarter of 2017 and reach a plateau rate of 17,000 boe/d. Production rates for Glenlivet haven’t been reported.
