MARKET WATCH: Crude oil futures price falls, natural gas price rises

The New York Mercantile Exchange December crude oil contract dropped $1.08 on Oct. 30, closing at $81.12/bbl. The January 2015 contract dropped $1.06 to $80.90/bbl.

The New York Mercantile Exchange December crude oil contract dropped $1.08 on Oct. 30, closing at $81.12/bbl. The January 2015 contract dropped $1.06 to $80.90/bbl.

The natural gas contract for December increased 3.9¢ to a rounded $3.83/MMbtu. The cash gas price at Henry Hub, La., was $3.74/MMbtu, jumping 18¢.

Heating oil for November delivery lost 2.22¢ to a rounded $2.51/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for November delivery lost 2.49¢ to a rounded $2.20/gal.

The December ICE contract for Brent crude oil fell 88¢ to $86.24/bbl. The January 2015 contract fell 89¢ to $86.70/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for November declined $10.50, settling at $746.50/tonne.

The average price for OPEC’s basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $82.79/bbl on Oct. 30, down 45¢.
