Inpex Corp. plans to upgrade facilities at its Koshijihara plant to enhance natural gas and condensate recovery at Minami-Nagaoka gas field in Japan.

The upgrade will include reinstalling a compressor and separator to improve the efficiency of gas processing systems.

Inpex said the work is expected to increase recoverable reserves by 20% and extend the life of the field by nearly 20 years.

The field, 10 km southwest of Nagaoka, produces 123 MMscfd of gas and 3,100 b/d of condensate. After processing, gas is supplied to consumers via the company’s 1,400-km trunk pipeline network that extends across the Kanto-Koshinetsu region (OGJ Online, Apr. 29, 2014).
