Quicksilver Resources Inc. and Eni SPA have spudded a second well in their exploratory joint venture targeting unconventional reservoirs in Pecos County, Tex., after the first well flowed oil (OGJ Online, Nov. 5, 2013).
The Quicksilver Stallings 1H was completed in a 2,900-ft horizontal section in the Permian Third Bone Spring interval at a vertical depth of 7,400 ft. It began flow-back on Aug. 15 and recently was producing up casing at a rate of 750 boe/d, 90% oil, on a restricted choke.
Sustained production of the Delaware basin well was to begin early in September, Eni said.
The second well, Mitchell 1H, is 4½ miles north of the Stallings 1H. It targets a combined section of the Bone Spring and Permian Wolfcamp formations. Quicksilver said it expects to begin completing the well in a 5,000-ft lateral late in September as completion equipment becomes available.
Quicksilver operates the 50-50 joint venture, which covers about 52,500 acres in the West Texas county.
