Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has proved the extension of the gas and light oil discovery made in 2012 on the BM-SEAL-10 concession block of the Sergipe-Alagoas basin offshore Brazil (OGJ Online, Dec. 5, 2012).

Moita Bonita 3 (3-BRSA-1244-SES/3-SES-182) was the second extension well drilled in the area. It lies 82 km off the coast of Sergipe, 5 km from discovery well Moita Bonita 1-BRSA-1088-SES (1-SES-168) in 2,790 m of water.

Petrobras says drilling confirmed the presence of 40-m thick reservoirs with good permeability and porosity conditions, consistent with the project’s expectations. A formation test subsequently conducted proved the presence of 41° gravity oil and good reservoir productivity.

Petrobras, operator of BM-SEAL-10 with 100% interest, confirms it will proceed with activities planned for the area.
