Contract awarded for new Fujairah refinery

Ecomar Energy Solutions FZC (EES), Fujairah, through a contractor, has let a contract to Cylingas Co. LLC, a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Co. (ENOC), for a 7,500-b/d modular refinery to be located in Fujairah, UAE.

Cylingas will design, fabricate, install, inspect, test, paint, and commission 19 above-ground tanks and an associated piping system within the new refinery terminal, ENOC said in a June 22 release.

The above-ground tanks, for which Cylingas will undertake mechanical and piping requirements, will have a total storage capacity of 91,000 cu. m for handling naphtha, diesel, gas oil, fuel oil, kerosene, slop, and water, according to ENOC.

In addition to associated work on the project such as setting up free-issue mechanical equipment, vessels, positive displacement, centrifugal pumps, and loading arms, Cylingas also will provide residual engineering design, procurement, safe storage, fabrication, inspection, painting and surface preparation, insulation, and commissioning of a system of pipelines connecting to a jetty, ENOC said.

Design work already is under way on the project, which is scheduled for completion in 17 months, according to the state-owned company.

A value of the contract was not disclosed.

EES awarded Pyramid E&C Ltd., London, a contract for basic and detailed engineering, procurement, inspect, supply, construction, and commissioning of the Fujairah modular refinery last year, according to a release from Pyramid E&C on June 19, 2013.
