MARKET WATCH: Crude prices end week on high note

The New York Mercantile Exchange June crude oil contract price rose 34¢ on May 2, closing at $99.76/bbl. The July contract gained 29¢ to settle at $99.04/bbl.

The June natural gas contract lost 4.5¢ to a rounded $4.67/MMbtu. The July contract dropped 4.6¢ to a rounded $4.70.

Heating oil for June delivery edged up just less than a cent to a rounded $2.92/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for June delivery also gained less than a cent to a rounded $2.95/gal.

In London, the June ICE contract for Brent crude delivery increased 83¢, closing at $108.59/bbl. The July contract added 76¢ to settle at $107.97/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for May gained $9.75 to $909.50/tonne.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $104.25/bbl on May 2, increasing 48¢ from Thursday.
