MARKET WATCH: Oil futures price keeps above $101/bbl

The New York Mercantile Exchange April crude oil contract closed at $101.56/bbl on Mar. 6, rising 11¢. The May contract rose 14¢ to $101.02/bbl.

Heating oil for April delivery edged down just shy of a penny to a rounded $2.98/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for April delivery was up about half a cent to a rounded $2.95/gal.

The April natural gas contract increased 13.9¢ to a rounded $4.66/MMbtu. On the US spot market, the gas price at Henry Hub was a rounded $4.93/MMbtu, tumbling $1.58.

In London, the April ICE contract for Brent crude delivery added 34¢, closing at $108.10/bbl. The May contract jumped 28¢ to close at $107.57/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for March lost $7 to $904.75/tonne.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries reported its basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $104.37/bbl on Mar. 6, down 87¢.
