MARKET WATCH: Crude oil, gas futures end week flat

The front-month crude oil contract was flat on the week ended Mar. 7. Natural gas, while bouncing around a bit, also ended the week flat.

The New York Mercantile Exchange April crude oil contract rose $1.02 on Mar. 7, closing at $102.58/bbl. The May contract gained 97¢ to $101.99/bbl.

Heating oil for April delivery increased 2.9¢ to a rounded $3.01/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for April delivery was up 2.8¢ to a rounded $2.97/gal.

The April natural gas contract declined 4.4¢ to a rounded $4.62/MMbtu. On the US spot market, the gas price at Henry Hub was $4.76/MMbtu, falling 16.5¢.

In London, the April ICE contract for Brent crude delivery was up 90¢, closing at $109/bbl. The May contract rose 89¢ to close at $108.46/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for March gained $9.75 to $914.50/tonne.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries reported its basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $104.98/bbl on Mar. 7, rising 61¢.
