Crude oil futures prices ended the week higher Feb. 28 and overall, ended the month higher as well.
The New York Mercantile Exchange April crude contract gained 19¢ on Feb. 28 to close at $102.59/bbl. The May contract rose 27¢ to settle at $101.89/bbl.
Heating oil for March delivery was virtually unchanged at a rounded $3.09/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for March delivery was up 2.8¢ to a rounded $2.79/gal.
The April natural gas contract on NYMEX gained 9.8¢ to a rounded $4.61/MMbtu. On the US spot market, the gas price at Henry Hub was $4.74/MMbtu, up 17¢.
In London, the April ICE contract for Brent crude delivery gained 11¢, closing at $109.07/bbl. The May contract increased 9¢ to $108.63/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for March was up $2.50 to $920.75/tonne.
The Organizational of Petroleum Exporting Countries reported its basket of 12 benchmark crudes was $105.92/bbl on Feb. 28, down 18¢.
