Miller Energy Resources Inc., Knoxville, Tenn., has named John M. Brawley as its chief financial officer.

Brawley has served as a consultant to Miller, working with Chief Executive Officer Scott M. Boruff and President David J. Voyticky on strategic issues and financing matters.

Brawley was instrumental in securing the $175 million credit facility reported on Feb. 5, Miller said.

“John has previously worked with our lenders at Apollo and Highbridge and brings another layer of depth to those key relationships,” commented Boruff.

From 2010-13, Brawley was with Guggenheim Partners, where he managed their mezzanine energy portfolio as co-head of the Houston office and provided energy expertise for Guggenheim’s high yield and syndicated loan portfolios, Miller said.
