Reduc refinery unit set for restart

The coker of Petroleo Brasileiro SA’s (Petrobras) 232,000-b/d Duque de Caxias (Reduc) refinery in Rio de Janeiro state will resume operations later this week after a fire shuttered the unit on Jan. 4.

The unit is scheduled to restart on Jan. 10, Petrobras reported on Jan. 6.

Aside from the coker’s outage, other units at the refinery are operating normally, and supplies to the market were not affected as a result of the incident, the company said.

But details regarding the overall impact to production at the refinery following the coker’s shutdown remained unavailable.
