Although there was an uptick in crude prices Jan. 10 in New York markets, futures prices ended last week lower.
The New York Mercantile Exchange February crude contract was up $1.06 on Jan. 10, closing at $92.72/bbl. The March contract also gained $1.06 to settle at $92.95/bbl.
Heating oil for February delivery increased 1.93¢ to a rounded $2.94/gal. Reformulated gasoline stock for oxygenate blending for February delivery added 2.65¢, settling at a rounded $2.67/gal.
The February natural gas contract on NYMEX claimed an additional 4.8¢ to settle at a rounded $4.05/MMbtu. On the US spot market, the Jan. 10 gas price at Henry Hub was a rounded $3.97/MMbtu, losing 17.1¢.
In London, the February ICE contract for Brent crude oil jumped 86¢, closing at $107.25/bbl. The March Brent contract improved 65¢ to settle at $106.61/bbl. The ICE gas oil contract for January was unchanged from Jan. 9 at $907.25/tonne.
OPEC did not post a price for its basket of 12 benchmark crudes on Jan. 10. It was $104.35/bbl on Jan. 9.
