InterOil Corp. has appointed Jon Ozturgut as chief operating officer and Donald Spector as chief financial officer. Both Ozturgut and Spector formerly worked for Australian company Woodside Petroleum Ltd.

Recently appointed InterOil Chief Executive Officer Michael Hession also served as a Woodside Browse project executive.

Ozturgut, who was a senior vice-president at Woodside, succeeds William Jasper III who is retiring after 7 years with InterOil. Spector, who was a vice-president of taxation and treasury at Woodside, succeeds Collin Visaggio who is also retiring after 7 years’ service.

Both Jasper and Visaggio made it known some time ago that they would retire from InterOil once the company began commercializing its gas resources in the Elk-Antelope discoveries in Papua New Guinea’s Eastern Highlands.

InterOil late last year signed an agreement with Total SA regarding the development of these fields via an LNG project.

The company is streamlining its corporate structure and focusing staff resources at the frontline of its Papua New Guinea operations as well as its office in Singapore to support the exploration and LNG activities.
